Custom Buttons²

Hi,

At the outset, let me say I am completely lost on the 'XML' question I am about to ask.

I use Firefox with a Windows Visa OS.

I am attempting to do some part-time work online with ChaCha, a human search service.

Each time I log-into ChaCha's service, I receive the following message:

Error: "Custom XML()" don't work in Firefox/Mozilla toolbar version.
Please use "setCustomXML (sName, sXMLData)" instead.


As a result, I am not able to do any work. This message has stumped the engineers/tech support at ChaCha.

I wondered if this problem had something to do with creating a custom toolbar in Firefox.. and if you could help.

Whatever you do is very much appreciated.

An easy first port of call would be to move all the buttons off the toolbar into the "Customise window" toolbox.

That will delete the bar.

See if you still get the error.

If so - your problem is elsewhere.

If not. Make the toolbar again with a "safe" button on it such as one of the standard firefox "print" or "copy" buttons.

See if you get the error.

If not ... replace each of your custom buttons one by one and try again after each addition.

If you get the error - tell us which button is causing the problem.

I have a few questions and a few requests, but first let me say the function you are quoting as the error is not familiar to me.
Questions:

1. What version of Custom Buttons²?
2. Do you have Console² for your error console?
3. Did you attempt to view the source of the page in question?
4. If yes do a search of the source for XML & look for the function in question. Was it in the source?

Requests:

1. Please provide a link to the page you are having issues with.
2. Please provide a list of your installed extensions. (MrTech Toolkit can help with this).
3. Please install Console² (If NOT already installed) and post the actual error reported. Console² allows you to select & copy each error.
