Having not uploaded any buttons yet, I was wondering what the best way to do it is (layout of my post etc, and how do I actually attach the button).

Sorry if this is documented somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum the_hyrax_lord
I am assuming you are using Custom Buttons² version 2.0.7.1 or greater.

The Button context menu has an option for "Copy as BBCode Link" this will produce a button link you can simply paste into a post to the Buttons Database.

There is the ButtonPost button. You will need to know the ID # of the button you wish to post. (found by selecting "Button Help" from the context menu) This produces a comprehensive post with all the bases covered.
  1. Create a post for your button in the Discussion/Support forum and copy the link to that post to the clipboard.
  2. Create a new topic in the buttons database.
  3. Place the cursor in the textarea.
  4. Click the ButtonPost button and answer the prompts.
If you forget to copy the link to Support the button will still work but the link to the Support/Discussion will need to be fixed later. NOT a big issue, just be aware of it.

George
