I eply to message and get
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1245184 bytes) in /home/alipaz3/public_html/custombuttons2/forum/includes/utf/data/utf_nfkc_qc.php on line 2
so I send it here because I do not use forum now.

Hello jw25

I have too many problems with Custom Buttons² and not very much help so I uninstall and use just Custom Buttons because it is not so hard to figure out and not so many problems.

Thank you
ax

Hi, sorry to hear that you are having trouble. We would be happy to help if we can. There has been some memory issues with the forum and that is probably why you received the error message when trying to reply to the pm.

Are you trying to PM a file? like buttonsoverlay.xul? Make a post in the extension support forum and paste your file there - when your problem will be solved, somebody here can delete/lock the the thread.
Sorry you feel like you're not getting any help here - this is one of the most helpful forums i know and people here are extremely helpful (i know, they led me by hand not once!).

One specific reason for memory issues is having the little superscripted 2 in a post. There may well be other causes but the superscript 2 fails nearly every time. Even Board Admin is having issues with this at present. We feel your pain. We are working with the forum developers to resolve this.

I did not try to send file but message has little superscripted 2 so maybe that is reason. Easy to fix. Use css replace or htaccess rewrite Custom Buttons² with
Code: Select all
Custom Buttons[sup]2[/sup]

Maybe helpful for some and not so helpful for others. A little help here but not so much I think. In requests are 87 topics and 23 are unanswered.

Sometimes people just PM each other w/out returning to a topic. Sometimes nobody knows an answer or/and are not interested in working on something useless to them - just like some exts. don't get updated 'cause a creator has lost interest. Happens, you know. And - of course - some may be overlooked. We all have lives to live besides Custom Buttons2 (sorry George, nothing personal :P ). This is still one of the best supported exts. and forums. Again, sorry you feel other wise. Good Luck!

adrienne,

Unfortunately we are not some huge corporation. We are 3 guys and there are a few gurus who regular the forum as well. Additionally understand that our knowledge is not necessarily infinite, so there are some things we may not have answers to. We do however do our best.

Lastly, if you switch back to Custom Buttons there will certainly be less support, since there is no forum for the extension.

Sorry for any inconvenience and let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

Thank you makondo and nicholas.

Same to make post as send PM and helps more people. Maybe nobody knows an answer but many questions are not hard. I think people not interested because hard to overlook so many.

I see there is no forum for Custom Buttons so I make one if I keep using. Any way Custom Buttons is not so hard to figure out as Custom Buttons².
